ABOUT ME
I don't like injustice, and I believe in solidarity. I am relatively powerless because I'm not part of any groups, but I do what I can at my level to stay cool. I like people, and I like that they're not perfect.
I write screenplays sometimes, I teach English and train teachers. I run a teacher training company, we work with English teachers all around the world. I spend a lot of time reading.
PHILOSOPHY
Gift theory, Mauss.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'll host. I'm a very good host. Don't get in your face, and I know how to handle conflict should it arise, and I believe in receiving as much as, or more than, I give.
I am now looking to surf again, after taking a break for many years.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Kenya, California, Washington D.C.

Music, Movies, and Books
I think it's like love, your first one(s) are often the last.
So they're the books that I grew up with and shaped me.
Dostoyevski, JD Salinger, George Orwell, Georges Perec... books by these guys I will never forget, I think.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Raised two children, twins.
It's hard to say that I did it. I am their father, they're my sons, it's a relationship, and relationships always go both ways.
We're raising each other. Still really amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'll teach English, French, dramatic narrative structure, how to find a good place in the world. I'll teach pedagogical practice and theory.
I am at a life turn again. It's time for me to start learning from other people again. I'm not as rusty as I thought I was. I am learning.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A few anecdotes, though I don't like to brag about "all the amazing places I've been."
I can share friendliness.
Booklists, and tales from the 80s and 90s growing up in NYC, then traveling some of the world for a few decades. Crossing borders illegally during Covid. Stories of sacrifice and betrayal, and crazy loves that work out in the end.
