About Me

Based on Spain for December and January, will visit Ecuador in December!

CURRENT MISSION To know more about myself and the world than I did yesterday. While alive, live!

ABOUT ME I'm passionate about life and people. I'm pretty much the type that you'd find outdoors, excited at the prospect of things like camping and treks. Beside that, I love learning about cultures, food and places. I enjoy every minute that I spend on my travels! The things I value the most in my life are relationships and experiences. These are the things that will remain long after everything material fades. I am also a firm believer in lifelong learning.

I adore the Balkans and the Iberian Peninsula. In 2014, I went on a long trip around Europe after sporadically travelling and living in France. I was also in Hong Kong for a weekend in October and spent most part of December in California, USA. In 2015, I re-visited Serbia + Montenegro and checked out Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Vienna, Slovakia, Andorra and Czech Republic for the first time. I also lived in Barcelona for two months to learn Spanish!

PHILOSOPHY I'm an "on the bright side" kind of person. I always choose to see the positive in all situations and everyone I meet. I want to see as much of the world as possible now that I still can enjoy it. I kind of feel bad for people who push it off till later and then the "later" comes too late. "Far better to fail at building a magnificent world than to succeed in monochromatic survival." - Jon Foreman "There are things in life that are bigger than ourselves. Life is short, live it well." - Jerome Fontamillas "Give to the world the best you know and the best will come back to you." - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

People are the main reason why CouchSurfing is amazing - there is nothing I enjoy more than meeting people who are willing to share interesting perspectives towards life.

"People are most important in my life. Many travelers go to see things like the Tower of London, the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower and so on. I travel to see friends, even — or especially — those I've never met" - Jim Haynes

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfing, hosting, meeting up, doing stuff together, it's all good. I love meeting people from other cultures, appreciating the differences and also discovering our human, common grounds.

Interests

Travel, of course. Became addicted to hitchhiking in 2014. Currently obsessed with latin dance - salsa and bachata. Food is a huge part of my life. If you are here in Singapore, I will never abandon you in a fast food joint. You will get to try the best of Singapore's hawker food because I love it and hope that you will too. Of course, when I visit other countries, I would love to eat local food too. Being an adrenaline junkie means that I have a deep passion for all things thrilling. This includes roller coasters, theme parks and extreme sports, like paragliding and bungee jumping. I would love to be able to go skydiving and spelunking/caving some day. I love good music with meaningful lyrics and/or catchy beats and melodies. I like being outdoors and experiencing nature at its finest, so I love trekking, hiking and camping, except when sandflies or mosquitoes decide to descend upon me. I can pitch a tent pretty quickly! Big, bustling cities (read: Barcelona, New York) enthrall me, as well as charming little towns with their own kind of culture. I believe people really make a place what it is, so I love getting to hang out with locals. I also love volunteering and giving back to the communities which are underprivileged. Education is a cause I champion, and I was a member of a two-week long project that headed to Nepal. You can read more about it at www.projectnamaste.com. I also grant wishes with Make-A-Wish Foundation! Other things I enjoy: Hitchhiking, Board Games, Reading, Writing, Behavioural Economics, People Watching, Social psychology, Long, meaningful conversations Trivia, Anything intellectually stimulating, Technology, Basketball, Soccer Festivals, Art, Museums, Pinball Machines, Helicopter Rides

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Meeting awesome people on CouchSurfing who have become some of my close friends (I have met at least 5 friends in different countries again!)

- Been to 21 countries within 6.5 months in 2014 - Hitchhiking (anywhere, everywhere!) - Seen animals in the wild in South Africa -Stood on the fine sands of Dubai & Huacachina after riding up and down dunes in a 4WD - Snowtubed in the Swiss Alps (Mt Titlis) - Gulped down too much seawater after Banana Boating and falling into the water hard in China - Lived in a tent on a mountain in Nepal for 10 days, without electricity. I did it with 23 others, and we cooked our own food and washed our mess tins in the cold. - Descended to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in a helicopter - Trekked up to 3210M, to view the sun rise over the Annapurna Himalayan Range in Nepal - Paraglided over Pokhara, Nepal - Took a leap of faith and bungee jumped from a 160M high platform, with the raging Bhote Kosi river below (Nepal) - Rode an elephant in Thailand - Had my first motoring experience in an ATV on Thai dirt roads, riddled with rocks and steep inclines/declines. - Got stuck on a boat which was unable to dock due to inclement weather, with people who had serious panic attacks and saw some even jump overboard - Kayaked at Halong Bay - Watched the sunrise at Angkor Wat - Witnessed saffron-robed monks accept alms in Luang Prabang - Dumpster dived at Albert Cuypmarket in Amsterdam - Clinked steins at Starkbierfest in Munich - Danced at a Scottish Ceilidh in Edinburgh - Watched a sunrise on a camel's back in the Sahara Desert - Rafted down the Tara Canyon in Montenegro - Rode horses through lava fields in Iceland - Played $3 blackjack in Vegas, then went on the other end of the spectrum and partied VIP style on consecutive nights - Navigated Albania's crazy roads without being run down by cars The best is yet to come!
