I'm a university student in Denton, Texas studying to be a social worker. I'm extremely passionate about advocating for marginalized populations and hope to lead cognitive behavioral therapy groups once I've finished my MSW or doctorate. I'm due to graduate with my BSW in May of 2016.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing to broaden my horizons and immerse myself completely in other cultures. I'm a bit of a history buff so I'm hoping to visit an area that has a vibrant and interesting past. Apart from sounding very touristy, I'm hoping to meet individuals on couchsurfing that will introduce me to the spots that attract locals as well: favorite bars, city nooks, local bands performing, their favorite hiking locations, etc.

Interests

I'm obviously very interested in people. I love learning about/observing how different people engage in rituals, routines, and cope with stress. I love organizing androgynous business attire. My "at home" activities include Netflix, cooking, reading, video games, and journaling. When out with friends, I enjoy going to pretty low key bars, finding gourmet taquerias, taking photos, and discussing social justice issues.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Like most people on here, I'm happy to cook for anyone. Though I currently reside in Texas, my culinary passions are from the east coast and revolve mostly around seafood. If you're not a fish person, I can show you some southern dishes with a spicy kick. If neither of thsoe sound all that great, the least I can do is buy you a drink.
If you're looking for a conversation partner, someone to go to pubs with, or a board game enthusiast, I'm your girl.
For those of you who are musically inclined, I'm not very talented in that field but I will proudly accompany you on my harmonica or tambourine.
