About Me

I love creating the future. In an extreme that sums up my businessy side of life. Unprofessionally, I'm a nerd, an athlete, actor, artist, adventurer -- as Tim Ferriss puts it: a generalist. I strive to be an ever growing expressionist, one who sees life's beauty, uses a positive perspective for life, and makes the most of opportunities along the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since graduating high school, I've been part of Americorps NCCC, a team based national service program for 18-24 year olds that has sent me to serve in 5 communities throughout the pacific northwest. The spirit of adventure now lives inside of me and I'm here to have fun sharing it with new people! I hope to take part in creating new friendships, meeting great people, and making solid memories that will last a long time.

Interests

I strive to learn how to better teach myself new things. I like to think and do, and as a result I am also interested in where thought meats reality. These interests are a work in progress but I love doing new things!

On the other hand, I grew up being very active and I still am. Namely I'm familiar with soccer, frisbee, and flag football, so if you are a part of a rec league that welcomes drop ins I would be PUMPED to come play with you! And if you're not active but love sports than no worries, I like going to games and just watching them on tv too.

Finally I am obsessed with understanding the world we live in. This means studying everything from inventions in history to the people that influence it today; people like Elon Musk, Tim Ferriss, Emma Watson, Peter Diamandis, Mike Rowe, and a slew of others who use their successes to further the meaning of greatness, inspire others, and create something better in the name of people other than themselves. By understanding the pieces making up our world, I hope to get a glimpse of the bigger picture and have a route to positively influence what's really going on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On an overcast day in late April I took a deep breath and jumped, landing 25 feet below in frigid black waters beneath a waterfall. I swam over to the bay, climbed up the rock, and then I did it again.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I've advised the Dale Carnegie Training on improving practices, attended multiple Start Up Weekends (the most recent being SWEDU), and have previously started a business of my own. So if you want to know about starting a small business/being an entrepreneur, talking Dale Carnegie, or if you want to learn about Americorps, I'm a good source on that!

Learn:
I'm not religious but I want to learn meditation for relaxation purposes from someone who really knows what they're doing. Also, if you like storytelling I'd love some tips and practice to get better at that! And I'd also like to learn dancing too.

Share:

We can share a really good match (or evening of matches) of Smash Bros if you play video games. I can play FPS too and I like games with great story and beauty like Shadow of the Colossus and The Last of Us.

If you watch anime or movies and don't mind making fun of it, I love making snarky comments about weird things happening there. MST3K type thing, if you can dig it.

Stories!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A box of chocolates? Hella lotta ice cream? An evening jog? If you have a preferred gift I'm all ears, although I'm coming off an Americorps budget and I'm about to go to college so I don't have else to give... Would it be overly cheesy to say a conversation too?

I like cooking too and I've got progressively better at it, so I can possibly make dinner too!
