Overview
About Me
I studied technical theatre at Colorado State University, recently graduating with my BA in Technical Theatre. I grew up in southern California and went to my first university abroad, in Nova Scotia. I lived there for four years, moving between Wolfville, Halifax, and Winnipeg. My soon-to-be husband Jacobi graduated from CSU also with a BA in Communications and a minor in political science. He works as a freelance computer tech and demonstrator at a locally owned toy store. We met here in Fort Collins and are getting married June of 2018! We plan to move to the San Luis Obispo area in spring and eventually live aboard a sailboat.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We travel a lot for internships and for fun, along with visiting our widespread family and friends. Finding places to stay outside of hotels and hostels allow us to travel as much as we like to. We love meeting new people and getting to know a city is much better from a local's perspective. We both have a wide variety of skills and talking points and promise to be as interesting or boring as you'd prefer. All the while being perfectly clean and respectful of your space.
Interests
I studied technical theatre and most of my interests are related to that. I love to paint, cross stitch, and read. I'm pretty decent on my longboard, though I don't ride anymore for fear of falling and hurting myself after receiving a long-waited for surgery to alleviate thoracic outlet syndrome. I enjoy biking and swimming, paddle boarding and I also enjoy simply relaxing. I love winter too, sledding, ice skating, and even just walking around in the snow. Jacobi and I share many interests yet he is much more interested in debate, PC gaming, building skateboards, building quadcopters, and cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books
My friends might describe my taste in music as "old 90's grunge rock" but I'm not entirely sure what that means. I love Train, The Script, Jack Johnson, Panic! At The Disco, most country music, and hundreds of others. For being a theatre person, I don't watch many movies, but I have a slight obsession with Disney and any of their animated movies are fantastic. I do love to read, Murder/Mystery/Crime novels are my poison of choice. Michael Connelly's series on Harry Bosch is my favorite in that category. The Kingkiller Chronicles is a fantasy series that has stolen my heart, one of the best written stories I have ever been exposed to. The Book Thief is my favorite stand-alone novel and I read it at least once a year. Jacobi has introduced me to StarTrek and we obssively watch through series over and over. My favorite character is Wharf because he is just so funny and ridiculous, while Jacobi loves Data because of his striving to be a better person while being a little larger than life. Jacobi reads comic books and loves watching TV shows and seeing as many movies as he can.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Since graduating high school I've lived abroad for four years, in 3 different cities, had countless different roommates, jobs, and friends. Moving to Canada was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Jacobi has traveled to Africa and did a biking tour through Norway. He has researched and studied more topics than I can keep track of and has a desire to learn and share knowledge more than any person I have ever met.
Teach, Learn, Share
We are both pretty handy with a tool set, but my real talent to share is in baking. I love to bake desserts and assorted breakfast foods. I tend to not actually eat the things I make, so it is always a great thing to have people about ready to help me dispose of my product. I love to learn about cities and new places from the eyes of a local, versus going from a tourist handbook. Jacobi is the same though he thrives in cooking much more than I. He is the best at researching and solving a problem, while having a working knowledge of all things computer, a lot of things about basic car operation, and a little about everything else.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We are clean, quiet, and friendly always. I like to think I am a great house guest, having had much experience meeting and living with new people from my own age group to my friends families to people much older than I. Jacobi can say the same having had many guests at his house while growing up and returning the favor as he has traveled in adulthood. I have experiences and stories from living the places I have, Jacobi has stories of his travels abroad and a particular favorite one where he accidentally spiked the family dinner with an exorbitant amount of marijuana. We love to listen to other peoples lives and stories too. We can help with cooking, art projects, handy projects. We are both fast learners and would be ready and willing to help with whatever might need helping.
