Hey,

I'm Morgan. I'm from California and I am traveling for most of 2015. I want to travel slowly and really get to know each place I visit. I would love to find hosts and local folks to hang out with, as well as other travelers. Some goals for my trip include:

- meeting interesting people
- reading books by authors from every country I visit (always looking for recommendations!)
- trying new foods
- improving my spanish
- lots of dancing
- learning to play a halfway decent game of pool

In no particular order...

Music: the books, the talking heads, jolie holland, art blakey, tom waits... And i can get behind some taylor swift if that's what you are into.

Books: I love pretty much everything by Kurt Vonnegut, Italo Calvin, John Irving, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie or Sarah Vowell.
I plan on reading something by Paulo Coelho next, as from reading people's profiles, he seems to be the patronsaint of Couchsurfers...
I also love reading "non-fiction," particularly history.

Movies: I recently saw "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night," and it was fantastic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quit my job and bought a one-way ticket to Thailand.
