About Me

CURRENT MISSION

bask in the freedom I feel as a college graduate

ABOUT ME

I am about to be a college graduate (weird!) from Wisconsin and was born and raised here.
I love to travel and learn languages whenever possible and only just got back from a year abroad in Spain in 2011.
I am super active; I just love to go, go, go.
I work two jobs: one as a waitress at a delicious fondue restaurant and the other as a barista at the cutest little coffee shop. When I am not working or doing the school thing, you can typically find me out with friends, in the kitchen, or out for a run.
I am currently training for my first half marathon, with hopes of one day moving on to a full one.
I enjoy doing yoga and can be seen sporting my lime green mat all over town.
I am half Puerto Rican, but have yet to visit the island.
My birthday is in the summer and it is my absolute favorite time of the year.
One day I hope to move somewhere warm, near a large body of water.
I am an adventurous eater, love any and all spicy foods, but typically eat a Mediterranean-esque diet.
I speak Spanish and am learning Portuguese and am pondering what my fourth language to learn will be.
I don't play any instruments, but have plans to start piano back up again and would love a lesson or two!
I might very well be addicted to coffee and am perfectly alright with that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started to couch surf during my year abroad in Europe in 2010-11 and had some of the most amazing experiences of my life through the connections made and people I met. Now, I would love to offer my time and couch to travelers coming to the Madison area and offer a similar experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed for the very first time in Berlin with an amazing woman and was instantly hooked! From there, I tried it again in London and Edinburgh and had equally amazing hosts in both cities. I plan to make another trip to New York and Toronto and would love to try my hand at surfing again as well.

Interests

Ok here goes...

Traveling, reading, watching/going to see movies, going out for any and all types of food, hiking, cooking, learning languages, listening to live music, boating, speaking Spanish, sky diving, running, doing yoga, salsa dancing, and camping all get my stamp of approval.

I am just a low key, up for whatever kinda girl. I thrive on getting out of my norm and trying new things..I think I get bored too easily.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing trips I have ever been on involved a VERY last minute trip to London and Edinburgh that left me almost stuck in British customs for the remainder of the trip, without preconceived plans of lodging, almost missing my Highlands tour in Scotland while being rained on close to every day, but I managed to find some amazing Couchsurfers and that made me trip all worth while.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make some dec tortilla de patatas and would be willing to share with you my over-abundant amount stock of peanut butter if you asked nicely :)

I would love to pick up any and all language lessons, as well as musical lessons. I'd definitely be up for swapping recipes and cooking together as well!
