About Me

I'm a political communication and creative writing student from Austin Texas on my way to San Diego with my friend Sloan for spring break!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I live in a co-op (cooperative living home) and I'm excited to meet new people across the country. I see it as a fun and convenient alternative to boring hotels and appreciate the social value.

Interests

I've been an amateur DJ at my university's radio station, KVRX for the majority of my college career. Now, I'm exploring beekeeping and sustainable agriculture. My main hobbies are creative writing and spending time with people who energize me. I'm also into spending a lot of time alone, so, I'm flexible with your temperament.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Secret History ( Donna Tartt in general), Boris Vian, Anne Carson, Flannery O'Connor, Jesmyn Ward, Nabokov, Joan Didion, Oscar Wilde, Tolstoy, Augusten Burroughs.

My favorite TV shows are Mad Men and Orphan Black.
I'm currently reading The Executioner's Song by Norman Mailer and listening to a lot of Jim Croce, Laura Nyro, Of Montreal, Joanna Newsom, Billie Holiday, and Bobbie Gentry. I like all genres of music from jazz, rap, and 60s country to folk and blues.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went bungee jumping at the Houston rodeo and didn't die.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm currently learning Italian and always up to share and discuss all things music and writing

What I Can Share with Hosts

My experience with cooperative living prepared me to handle essentially any social situation. Respecting everyone's space and communicating honestly has been paramount to maintaining harmony in our home. I'm extremely flexible and willing to be accommodating to whatever works for you. I'm down to hang out and help with cooking or cleaning and I am also down to give you as much space as you wish.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland
