About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"I am simply doing what God has called me to do as a person who follows Him. He said to feed His sheep and He said to care for 'the least of these,' so that's what I'm doing, with the help of a lot people who make it possible" -K.Davis

ABOUT ME

I'm an easygoing human who loves meeting people of all walks of life and hearing about their interests/experiences etc. I'm a Special Education Teacher and my husband Les is a Sous-Chef. We each have a great sense of humour, are left-leaning politically, and love to discuss world events, history, politics, and more. We are pretty active in the Nanaimo area and are happy to make any recommendations for hiking trails, beaches, or other places to travel around Vancouver Island or BC.

We are neurospicy, part of the queer community, and we embrace diversity in all its forms. Our home is open and welcoming to everyone; no hate speech or intolerance will be accepted here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hosting and travel :) I have been on and off Couchsurfing for years depending on what's going on in my life. My last roommate and I really wanted to open up our home to anyone who needed a place to crash. When I was living in France, I travelled a lot around Europe and surfed as much as I could during that time. Les and I have stayed at others' homes intermittently as we've had time to travel, and hope to again in the future. For the time being, we try to host whenever possible and surf wherever we travel to cut costs and meet new friends across the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most memorable experiences come from sharing life with people on my travels. Travelling is something I'd like to do more of to experience different cultures and to really learn more about the world we live in and the amazing people that are in it; we don't really get a proper taste of all that from just talking to people or seeing pictures.
