ABOUT ME
Ph.D. of climate science in Hamburg, currently in Colorado for a conference and vacation

I do not travel just for the sake of traveling and seeing as much as possible. When I travel, it's because I want to spend my free time in a foreign environment and get to know people. I enjoy meeting people a lot and I prefer discovering cities to seeing nature. I consider myself easy-going, but that's a matter of perspective, I guess.
Politics, environment, and society are things I care about and I am interested in your opinions on these topics.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I like the input I get from couchsurfers so whenever there's an opportunity I like to host people. I hate not to have time to spend with couchsurfers and would prefer if you'd spend some time with my friends and me, although I know that sometimes one needs just a place to crash without having much time.

Also I find travelling much better when staying with couchsurfers, like probably most of us do.

兴趣

Before I hurt my leg, I used to play a lot of Jugger, which is in my opinion the best sport that has ever been invented. It's difficult to explain in some sentences and the Wikipedia-entry on Jugger is quite long and misleading, so you better ask me about it and I'll explain the rules to you. ;)
I also played some ultimate frisbee, but this has to wait until I'm fit again. I love to go swimming in the lakes of Leipzig and sometimes go climbing.

I don't know how to make music but I definitely enjoy it, so if you can play instruments or sing I will be strongly impressed.

In the evening I usually meet my friends who always love to get to know my couchsurfers. We drink beer, cook, go to the park or dancing (at least we call it dancing :))

音乐、电影和书籍

I have my little pool of 6 or 7 rock music bands which I listen to all day and it never bores me. I am kind of small-minded when it comes to this. ;)

Still, I enjoy self-made music a lot, no matter which genre.

I don't read fiction, only political / historic / scientific stuff. I tried, really, I tried so much, but I just can't find pleasure in reading fiction.

I am interested in politics and like to discuss my views with other people. I can talk endlessly about interesting phenomena of physics and mathematics, but don't worry, I won't bother you with that unless you really want to :)
I am really good at cooking easy-to-prepare-but-acceptable-taste-food, but like to cook more complex meals, too.
