I took a leap of faith and went to China hoping for an adventure. I definitely got what I bargained for and then some. I faced some serious adversity, but at the moment it seems like I've found some semblance of balance and started enjoying my new life here.

Some of my values are honesty and directness. I often speak my mind and I especially appreciate people who do the same. No deep relationship or friendship is possible unless people are willing to reveal and share some of their innermost thoughts and feelings. I'm probably the least judgemental person you will ever meet and I never repeat what's said to me in confidence, so opening up to me is safe. I promise ;)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Went on a hike in the mountains near Shenzhen with some 20 people, we lost our way, somehow made it through the jungle without any sort of path, got caught by nightfall, kept walking with flashlights until eventually one girl just refused to keep walking and demanded the rescue force be summoned. To my surprise it worked, we were found initially by a drone, then 2 hours later the police came with water and food and escorted us safely down. Next day we were in the local news! #wordscantdescribe

I am eager to learn from everyone around me, and we can learn the most from people who are different from us. So, not to sound cliche, but I think I'm legitimately open minded and curious about multiple perspectives. Of course, I have some opinions of my own - strong opinions loosely held. I used to think I knew all there was to know about the world, but over time I realized there's still a whole lot to discover.

I very much enjoy discussing things, and hopefully something will come up in conversation that I'll be able to share my knowledge or experience about.
