About Me

Hello everyone!

..my name is Morlin.
After graduating High School in 2016 I started the biggest adventure of my life so far and spent a year in South Africa, doing voluntary work. Afterwards I did my Bachelors degree in Political Science and Sociology in Germany, before I decided to move to Austria for my masters.
I love long talks about soccer, travels, politics or simply absolutly meaningless stuff while having one, two or eventually too many beers.
Cheers !

PHILOSOPHY:
Human populations appear to be different in terms of colour, body size, limb proportions, hair textures and other physical attributes. Beneath the surface, we are all virtually identical. There is no genetic boundary for race. We are one species.
- cradle of humankind, South Africa

Music, Movies, and Books

I love rock music. My favorite band of all times is Linkin Park !
I also spent a lot of time listening to Yungblud, Imagine Dragons, K.Flay, BMTH, Mike Shinoda and MGK. Over the summer I like to volunteer at serveral music festivals in Europe. Live music and concerts are a big passion of mine.
I have met Jared Leto (leadsinger in thirty seconds to mars) randomly in NYC while i was couchsurfing in the city, so that was pretty awesome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in a South African township for a year.

I met a street musician at 2 a.m right in front of the Brandenburger Tor in Berlin and we sang songs and played the guitar until sunrise. Nobody else was there.

I spent 50 hours on a Tanzanian train with no running water or electricity.

I sat on the edge of the Victoria Falls in Zambia - the place is called devils pool.

I was pulled on stage with a pride flag in my hand at a concert of my favorite musician in front of thousands of people.

I worked at a refugees transit station in Macedonia.

I jumped out of a plane above CapeTown.

Backpacking across South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, US, Canada, Cuba and New Zealand.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring beer or do the dishes.

For me, a very important aspect of traveling is to exchange experience with locals. Couchsurfing has allowed me to get to know many places that I would never have been able to visit otherwise. We host regularly in my shared apartment in Austria and I have experienced many beautiful, often small moments with the guests. I hope you have a similar feeling after my visit. That it enriched you in some way and that we had fun moments or interesting conversations.
