About Me

So, I am Maurice, a 25 yr old design student from Germany that wanders around seeking new experiences and stories he can tell his grand children one time. 'And then one day.. Oh kids, the times! You can not imagine!' Or better be quiet about it. Who knows.

Back from the summer!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is where I put in 'authentic traveling', right?

Interests

Well, it's probably obvious I am somehow interested in art, graphics and design, given my choice of studies. What's somehow handy is that this means it's also part of my 'job' to see new things , meet new people, experience different societies and circumstances to later give other people insights on subjects design-wise they would not get themselves. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

Besides that I like to read, play ukulele, surf, hang out with other people, spend hours in endless discussions, follow politics, draw, write, visit exhibitions and go partying after.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pretty much a bit of everything from modern classic to punk, deep house, punk etc. But in general I have a crush for the more experimental or trashy stuff.
My problem with movies is that I always fall asleep trying to watch them. To keep me awake it really has to catch me picture, sound and story wise. Oh, and I love 'drive'.
Books, huh, Herman Hesse, everything from Hesse. Maybe a bit of Adorno, 'Müdigkeitsgesellschaft', nothing too story heavy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not one of the stories where you catch 'Wow's and laughter, but I did donate stem cells to a cancer patient. And the feeling of going through different blood tests and then lying on a bed in the hospital thinking 'shit, some stranger is dying somewhere in the world, and me watching a movie while blood is getting pumped out of my body is his only chance of living right now' is pretty weird but amazing. Still gives me the chills thinking of it.
