About Me

CURRENT MISSION

get to know a bit of NZ

ABOUT ME

all about me?... all???
it changes all the time. i mean, there are so many different aspects in each of us... every day i'm changing. or at least i want to think that.

but some stuff are curved deep, with me all the time. isn't it strange to give names for that?
i'll try in a very partial list: a nature lover (finaly moved out of the city)... an ecologist (till i get pissed of trying to recycle in israel)... music lover- i sing (though i don't have enough of it in my life)... a reader... my overall pace is kinda slow comparing to Elor (my husband!)... a Kibbutznik- it's not only growing up there... i love studying with others...

PHILOSOPHY

dialog and listening,
trying to find the "places" where i'm able to communicate with the person infront of me.
i wish i could say i've made it to these goals but it's always good to look toward something...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd love to meet, help, and show a bit of Israel to other backpackers out there.
i'd love to meet, get help and a bit of understanding of the people and countries i'll travel...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

does letting a poor backpacker use my youth-hostel-room porch in Seville counts?

but on the summer of 2007, landing in Istanbul i was officially hosted for the first time. someone smiled at me, opened her house, opened her heart, started a chain of grace and fun of the next 2 months(and hopefully forever!)

Interests

music, especially singing; dancing; permaculture and other sustainable agriculture, or generally our connection to earth, to this world; culture differences and similarities; hiking; reading novels; dialog through studying together, or without...; baking and cooking

ok, who on earth will read this list to the end?!

Music, Movies, and Books

music: radiohead, sinead o'connor, bjork, joni mitchel, janis joplin, the blues brothers, flamenco, irish, and more. would like to know much much more, especialy of jazz and arabic music.
israelis: berry saharof, rona keinan, ehud banai, shotei hanevua, eviatar banai,
books: just been asked few days ago which book is my favorite, so here's the list...(i read most of them in hebrew therefore i don't really know the titles): roman gari- "kites", harooki morakami-"norwegen wood" only, avigdor dagan- the best would be "wisdom of a rooster" ("Kuropeni), tolkein- of course!
and some israeli poets.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

the birth of Shaked.
becoming a mother.

that's the old post: a sky burial in the Tibetan areas of Sichuan province, china. was amazing to witness the acceptance these people have with us being a tiny part of the huge circle of nature. in sky burial, the body is being cut and given to vultures and other birds.

Teach, Learn, Share

i guess i know a bit about my geographical area, about Israel, culturally speaking.
maybe some Judaism.
i can bake, cook, sew, can it help anyone in any way?

so much out there i'd love to learn: sustainability, folk dances and songs from around the world, Arabic and Spanish, to understand more how our body heals itself... oof the list will never end- it just grows by the day

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, China, Croatia, Georgia, Ireland, Laos, Mongolia, Portugal, Spain, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

Israel
