ABOUT ME
I DJ and produce music, work in a record shop, and write interviews and criticism here in NYC. I don't know if I was ready for New York when I cam here, but it was definitely ready for me. A life lived without randomness, spontaneity, and seat-of-the-pants recklessness and risk-taking does not and has never appealed to me, so thus we slag off constraints at a rate similar to the beat of my favourite tracks... I have lived in 9 different cities in 3 different countries, half involuntarily and most without significant planning, and seeing as my primary pursuit prevents too much of that I carry on unbridled. We construct our perceptions of reality based upon what exists in our immediate environment, what we know to exist in more distant ones, and what we wish to pursue from those choices. NYC is in reality thousands of different cities, perceptually contructed by each of the thousands of people here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Introduced to this via the lovely experience of crashing on someone's couch when I first moved to NYC, which bought me time to find a flat and generally sorted me out. Have been to social events around NYC also but rather too pressed for time to be too consistent.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Sam (see references) put me up for a couple of days on arrival in NYC- nice chap, really nice experience and helped me out loads. Although my life is currently in upheaval, come July-ish should be able to do a bit of contribution myself. Chapter 2: Movement Detroit 2009. Yet another lovely experience and more wicked people, apparently CS can do no wrong: nice people, nice time, nice vibes. The further misadventures of... I continue to use/abuse/misuse/disabuse this site to no end, placing random taunts and bluffs on strange groups in foreign countries (but only those I am visiting), and it seems that the results inevitably turn out well, in spite of my less-than-honourable intentions (just kidding). Will keep testing until it breaks...
Interests
Dance music. House music. Techno Music. Rap Music. Drum and Bass music. Garage Music. Grime Music. Dubstep Music. Funky House Music. Most other varieties of music, including jazz music, avant garde music, rock music, world music (whatever that means), ambient music (again, ?...), film, dirty European novels and a few less dirty ones, dirty Japanese novels, very dirty Japanese films, and some of the less dirty of those too, filthy French poetry, filthy beats, experimental art and culture, ethnic eats, expensive booze and cheaper booze if I can't afford the expensive stuff, late-night recreational activities, traveling... etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything dirty and/or filthy. Generally needs to be pretty experimental too. Let's not get high-falutin' here.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Montreal almost killed me several times but overall was completely breathtaking and responsible mostly for my transformation into an artist. Since that's a bit general, if you ever get the chance to take a train over the Alps from Milano to Zurich, I would highly recommend it; although you may miss out on the delirium and fever-induced hallucinations I experienced, the scenery is still mind-boggling.
Teach, Learn, Share
Always able to seek out the hidden corners and gems of the town, far flung they may be. Ears to the ground, son. Help in this area always appreciated.
