About Me
I'm a projectbased Photographer, mainly in genre of documentary photography, streets and travel photography. I produce exhibitions, books, workshops and so on.
I like adventures: hiking, kayaking and kiteing. I draw some cartoons for my own pleasure from time to time, and I love music. I love to spend times with new friends and of course stay with my old-ones as well...
You can find out more about my passion for photography at my homepage: www.mortengjerde.com.
I'm not smoking and I'm carefull with alcohole, especialy when traveling. But I love to share a glas of wine or beer with good friends. I have my own micro-brewery at home, just to make small batches of my own beer.
I'm married (since 1994) with my lovley wifeTrude (born 1971), we have two kids together. Mina (born 1995) and Erik (born 1997). They have both move out and starting there own life!
Me and my wife live in a small village in a high mountain area in Norway. We are geographicly placed apx. 120 km south-west of Oslo (the capitol of Norway). Our village, Bolkesjø, have no shops, gas-stations or services of any kind... Really nothing. Well, the population of the village is apx 100 persons and we need to go 30 km to find stores where you can buy food or other services. We have two different city's nearby (30 km to both of them actually, -but in different directions) These city's are Notodden and Kongsberg.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I know how importent local informers are for travelers like my self. I want to have the oppertunity to get tips from others and to give the same service for people in the network when they came across my area. 2nd reason is of course to meet new people and friends along my way and journys.
