About Me

At the moment I'm travelling/backpacking through the US, after spending a semester studying sociology at UW Madison, WI for a semester. I've lived in co-ops for 17 years of my live (In Madison I lived in Rochdale International Co-op), and I absolutely love it. Born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark. My main interests include (playing/listening to) music, sociology/philosophy (a.k.a. PEOPLE) and hiking (outdoors or urban).
I've been a vegetarian since january 2017 :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people, and I would much rather live with and hang out with locals than at some sterile roadside hostel. I'm not really into mainstream touristy stuff, and I'm hoping to meet people who know about local cultural treasures (music venues, urban spaces, you name it).

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow, where to start.
Some of my favorite authors include Jonathan Franzen (especially Freedom), Paul Auster (e.g. Music of Chance) and the swedish Jan Guillou. I'm also into fantasy and sci-fi. Just watched the two first seasons of "The Man in the High Castle" - wow, just wow!
Music-wise I love and listen to most genres: americana, folk, jazz, house, classical, pop, old school rock... When I play myself, it is mostly americana (such as Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Simon/Garfunkel, Tim Croce...) and folk(-pop) (e.g. The Villagers, Fleet Foxes).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once spent a week in the highlands of Kyrgyzstan. Amazingly beautiful, and almost untouched by humans. Lived in a yurt and hiked/rode on horseback through the plains.

Teach, Learn, Share

Interested in local history, music, food... and of course people!
I'm always up for a nice talk about music, philosophy (yup, I'm a nerd!), politics, the meaning of life, the weather... you name it!
