ABOUT ME

I am a calm and collected individual(except when it comes to poor soccer refereeing) who enjoys the little things in life. I am born and raised in the American West. I've seen my share hot deserts and snowy mountains. I'm currently studying Forensic Chemistry at Northern Arizona University.

I enjoy learning about string theory, a good beer, the absurdity of art, reading a literary masterpiece and then reading some Far Side cartoons, laughing at the stupidest things, listening to ABBA then listening to Iron Maiden. I'm an amalgam of interests.

One year all I got for Christmas was a hole in my pocket, so I would have something to play with.

PHILOSOPHY

There is too much world out there not to explore and there are plenty of people out there you can explore with or will help you explore. Different languages are spoken and different customs upheld but in the end we're all the same.

I like to do different things from other people. If someone decides on Paris, I go to Limonges. If it is Lisbon, I go to Madeira. If they say look at the camera, I look off just to side.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I met several people in Iceland via Couchsurfing and have hosted and met people here in Flagstaff.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed with some very nice people while traveling in Iceland and also met a handful of travelers while I was there who were mostly Australian. I don't know why there were so many Australians in Iceland.

I've hosted a handful of people last summer and really enjoyed.

Interests

Hiking, soccer(football), video games, movies, photography, walking around on gorgeous nights, discussing Muholland Dr., playing board games, making witty and insightful comments, looking for stars on a cloudy night, not falling asleep while driving.....

Music, Movies, and Books

The films of Andrei Tarkovsky. His films are the definition of life. He was able to put his thoughts, his dreams, and his philosophy onto film.

As for reading I greatly prefer non-fiction. Lately I have been reading war memoirs. I am a life long learner. I enjoy reading up on topics I become interested in which in turns improves your score on Jeopardy.

My taste for music is very peculiar because I only know two songs. One of them is "Spaceman" by The Killers and the other one isn't. (See what I did there)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done the rim-to-rim Grand Canyon hike in one day. That's hiking 21 miles(33.7km) in one day. My hips and legs were cramping severely for the last few miles and eventually one of my toenails fell out but it was worth it.

I remember at one point crossing a small footbridge late in the day. The sun created a shadowed lattice across the bridge and a breeze was swaying the trees and bushes in the most peaceful and beautiful manner. I was by myself and took a moment to stop and breath it all in.

I also came within five feet of Conan O'Brien.
