Sobre mí

After a life changing trip across Western Europe, Asia and the Middle-east; I have fallen in love with both the West and East.

I am a academic researcher halfway between computer science and marketing, a passionate bread-maker and a relentlessly try-hard poet. One of the lessons I have learnt from hitting the road so far and living in the moment is that all walks of life have something to teach you and all people are capable of unconditional love.

One of my goals in hosting is to also prepare through foreigners for my next big adventures abroad, some places I wish to visit:

Northern/Eastern Europe: Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Russia, Finland, Iceland, Norway.

South America: Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru.

North Africa: Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

It started with an excellent first host in Amsterdam, every since then I’ve opened up my studio to travelers from all across the globe. Some short, some long, young and old; what I’ve come to love is the sharing of attitudes and beliefs which end up rewriting who you are. The most fascinating lessons have been the conversations we’ve shared over a home-cooked meal.

Música, películas y libros

Eclectic best describes my tastes, I find contemporary music (e.g., Justin Bieber/Miley Cyrus) dismally uncreative and so go back into the archives for pre-modern talent.

Classical artists like Frank Sinatra/Nina Simone/Rahim Alhaj really make me feel possessed by art. Political rap from Gorillaz and 2pac is very provoking and Rock like The Killers is intriguing. Also artists who sing about unconditional love like John Lenon, Bob Marley.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Heard monastery chants in Cambodia with bats flying from caves
Shot an AK47
Jumped the first bungy-spot in the world
Tandem skydived in Rotorua
Seen the beautiful paintings of Italy
Climbed the Acropolis in Athens
Saw FC Barcelona in Spain
Modeled in France
Hitchiked on longboard to Queenstown/Nelson
Stayed at a traditional Onsen Ryokan
Visited Tibetan monks in Dharamshala
Entered through the gate of all nations in Persipolis
Lost and found street art in Beirut

Enseña, aprende, comparte

My research is on value propositions, what drives what we value and can we automatically (http://value.otago.ac.nz) identify that?

I have a Oud and Longboard which I get lost in, I'm interested in people that I can learn attitudes or skills from. I have shared dinner with a load of cultures all with different views on life.
