CURRENT MISSION
Rule #1: Don't sweat the small stuff; Rule #2: It's all small stuff
ABOUT ME
I'm down to earth, but also high in the sky. I once told my guidance counselor in middle school I wanted to be a philosopher or a bird. I like to sing. New things fascinate and enthrall me. I'm also a very active LGBT rights activist. I have a beard and I love bandannas.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted many amazing guests in Hokkaido and Montana but had to take a brief hiatus from hosting and surfing while living at a School for Field Studies field research station in Queensland, Australia. I hope upon moving to England I can host or surf more! There's nothing more fun than sharing stories of travels past with fellow ramblers.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love classic science fiction and fantasy novels, particularly Ray Bradbury and Piers Anthony as well as modern stuff like Terry Brooks. I love almost any quality music I can get my hands on from pop to world/folk, but I'm a particularly big fan of trance/rave/techno music and acoustic guitar/folk music. I love good movies, but most of my favorites are documentaries. At the top of my documentary list are "First Descent", "Step Into Liquid", "The Corporation", "Shaking Hands with the Devil" and "Occupation 101".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had an epic excursion in Ise, Mie prefecture Japan. I spent 4 days there and without any plan yet had a place to sleep every night, drank and ate heartily and made some amazing friends. It's experiences like those that make me love an idea like CS.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love mountains and languages and geography and travel. You want some fun travel stories? Because this is how you get fun travel stories. I love to listen and hike and do crazy adventuresome stuff, but I'm equally happy to share a glass of wine and watch a comfortable show on the couch. I'm easy going and up for anything. Let's chill. Cool? Cool.
