About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I can't travel right now due to work, so it would be cool to bring some of the world to me.
ABOUT ME
I lived in Detroit from 2008-2012 and I loved my neighborhood. It was so diverse! Whenever I left the house I heard a multitude of languages, maybe the call to prayer from the mosque, smelled curry, sausage, pastries, and passed by so many mom and pop stores. I am the kind of person that loves getting involved in the community and celebrating what makes it special. My new home definitely has a middle class, suburban feel to it and I find it very distasteful. It is a nice slice of American life, I suppose, and conveniently located for my morning commute.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am single and don't care to travel alone, but if I can convince a friend to go with me and we both have the same weekend off then I will go couch surfing soon! Meanwhile, I hope that I can host people on their way through Jacksonville. My schedule is very prohibitive though.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In the old country (Detroit) I hosted a handful of people at different times. I enjoyed meeting them and sharing that wonderful city with people.
Interests
While I don't think it is appropriate to have such a big yard, I really enjoy the crape myrtle, hibiscus, and other plants I have. I need to spend more time weeding and watering, but I don't mind if it doesn't look perfect. I like square dancing and contra dancing, cooking, eating, the occasional trip to the beach, card games, board games, biking and most other things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing the grand canyon was certainly breath taking. The first time I made a bundt cake and had to take it out of the pan was also quite a thrill. Standing at the window in my friend's apartment in Paris looking out at the night sky is another moment I will remember fondly forever. Riding my old horse in the Amish country of Ohio took my breath away a few times. There were so many appealing images of rural American life with a touch of nostalgia thanks to their antiquated farming and lifestyle
