Riding my Honda CT110 motorcycle from Australia to Europe. I was at University, then served in the Australian Army and now I'm building a finance company with an old friend. I wanted to get out of Australia for a while and see what the world was really like. I love camping and I live simply/rough while on the road, I'll wear the same clothes, sleep on rocks and eat oats for days. I'd consider myself a typical Aussie bloke. Tall, honest/straightforward, loves a good joke and maybe a little bit crazy from talking to myself too much on the long days of riding.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it's a place to stay and you have someone to talk to as well. I'll take anything, I'm 6'1 but happy to bend my knees to fit anywhere, even a flat bit of grass to set up the tent is fine. It's a great way to meet people from their own country and find out what life is really like there.

Interests

My bike: Honda CT110, it only goes about 70km/h and has had a hard life. I need to work on it every week to stop it falling apart. A few more months and it can retire to a nice farm somewhere in England.

My fittness: I enjoy most forms of physical activity, it's great for stress release and helps with sickness and injury prevention/recovery.

My finances : I saved for over 4 years to earn money for this trip so I like managing it to get as far as possible. It's just money though, I don't mind spending it to have a good time.

I play guitar but I'm a bit rusty at the moment. My fingers still remember a few songs if you have one lying around.

I enjoy reading and watching news on global current affairs. I think it's so interesting the way whole countries work compared to the individuals within them.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Pink Floyd, Coldplay are the favourites. Classic rock and country music are great too though I like just listening to talkback radio.
Books: Anything non fiction and informative but I loved the Dune series and sci fi.
Movies: Shawshank Redemption, The Dish, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars (original 6), 7 Days in Hell. Generally comedy, satire and mocumentaries are my favourites.
TV Shows: Rake, The Hollowmen, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Peep Show, Trailer Park Boys, House of Cards, Robot Chicken, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead.
I haven't seen many movies or shows this year as I've been busy riding, I'd love a chance to just spend a night watching telly.

I've lived independently since I was 17 so I can cook, clean, wash and any other household chores.
I'm handy with tools and have varying levels of building, gardening and automotive experience.
I'm good at and enjoy fixing simple mechanical things like door handles.
