About Me
Born and raised Calgarian! Love traveling and all the people I have met along the way. Some of my favourite stories are CS stories - ask, and I'll share!
There's so much to do in this life - in so little time.
3 of my past professions have involved working at height (glacier guide, wildfire rappel crew, and highrise window cleaner), and I love spending time climbing ice and rock during winter in the Canadian Rockies. I used to climb in the summer, but I'd rather be out chasing severe storms on the flatlands these days. In fact, I spend several weeks forecasting and chasing storms throughout Tornado Alley and across the Canadian Prairies every spring and summer.
I have a few other skills that are currently collecting dust (jazz/latin/funk/fusion drummer and competitive martial artist).
Currently, I work a job that I love in weather communication. I hope to do it forever!
**Almost all other info below hasn't been updated since 2010, since it still pretty much applies.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently I am only available to meet for coffee or to hang out during the day, however I anticipate this will change along with my circumstances in life.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've made lifelong friendships as a result of Couchsurfing around the world, some of which I continue to fly thousands of miles for more visits!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music really makes me tick. While I appreciate most forms of music, I do have certain tastes. I prefer soulful, original, meaningful, and talented music, which has good vibes and a good beat.
Movies can be cool to. Among my favourites are 127 Hours, Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, The Green Mile, The Bourne Trilogy, and other epic 'hero' movies like Gladiator and 300. As with music though, it is not possible to list all of my favourites here.
I read mainly non-fiction books, usually on wilderness, the natural sciences, and philosophy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This is a tough question. I have a habit of jumping out of perfectly functioning aircraft, and the feeling of summiting a mountain is one which is tough to beat. Also, Greenland and Iceland are amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
While I don't consider myself an expert at anything, I am more than happy to share any skills with you which I possess that are of interest to you, mainly pertaining to drumming (I used to teach drums as an occupation), climbing, or martial arts.
I love learning new things too, so feel free to teach me. I'd love get the motivation to become a better cook someday...
Of course you are always welcome to practice your English with me, and you can also encourage me to learn your language with you.
What I Can Share with Hosts
