About Me

*IMPORTANT UPDATE: I'M NO LONGER LIVE IN PORTLAND. SOUTH JAKARTA IT IS*

I love surprising, bold and unusual people! It can mean people with limitless minds to extremists, anyway.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couple of reasons!

ON HOSTING: I like travelers! They give me a sense of a little bit holiday in my routine, a reason to explore more of the city where I live, and hey, sometimes they can be more knowledgeable about THIS city compared with me! And anyway, I'm always excited if my friends asking me about traveling my country or my city, or even if some random traveler drop by and ask me about direction/recommendation. CS allows us to feel that kind of excitement more often, and being inspired by more impressive personalities!

ON SURFING: CS is beyond searching a place to sleep for me. It's about meeting interesting people with interesting stories. I wanna hear about the stuffs that they don't say (or don't care to say) in touristy areas, talk about the stuffs we don't talk when we're surrounded with travelers only. I never so interested in seeing the "touristy" part, so be prepared to satisfy my curiosity on your area's off the beaten path, social issues, or even your city's junkyard!

Interests

Trekking & mountaineering (I know more about volcano & climbing in tropics, though! YOU tell me about non-tropics climbing!), jamming, singing & songwriting, environmental law, citizen activism, community organizing, debating, games (esp. that involves logical challenges), and oh -- CHALLENGES!

Music, Movies, and Books

For couple of years, Bjork & Thom Yorke's "I've Seen It All" has been my favorite travel sound. I wanna know about your country's indie music scene, local film and esp. documentaries, and best local books from your country!

Teach, Learn, Share

Indonesian language and culture, hints on hiking Indonesian mountains and traveling places I visited, jamming session from jazzy tunes to dangdut, local culinary (as well as cooking it when we have access to kitchen), debating, drawing, zero-waste lifestyle (errr not so successful but I'm not bad at it). And my favorite subject: up-to-date envirolaw gossip (a.k.a. cool cases)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can assist you with anything! Okay, that's overconfident. But really, my talent on learn to do anything (and ruining it) is beyond your imagination!
