About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To invent a microwave that irons clothing and rid the world of such an arduous chore that is ironing

ABOUT ME

I am quite tall and also quite frugal with a penchant for puns. I enjoy skiing, playing music, and all the other activities that everyone else does in this state.

I grew up moving around the country a lot and my adult life thus far hasn't been much different, though I may be in Colorado for the long run.

I've traveled quite a bit in my day and of course traveling just makes you want to do more traveling so hopefully I'll get some more done before I outgrow the sensation.

PHILOSOPHY

"Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet." - John 13:14

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Less and less as I get older and marrieder, but now that we're homeowners we're happy to loan out the spare room to travelers who want to see a boring neighbor in an exciting city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed at peoples' houses when traveling abroad and thought it much better than hostels. Now, I just meet the occasional traveler that passes through and we usually share jokes and I get grief for going to bed early.

Interests

Work, baby! That is, teaching the high school youth. I also enjoy tennis.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Wilco, the Decemberists, Spoon, Islands, The National, Joanna Newsom, indie rock..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got henna tattooed by native Indians on an obscure Panama beach. They had never seen anyone as tall as me and had never heard their own voices recorded on a tape.

And to this day, as far as I know, I have written the only existing English-Embera dictionary, with the help of the tribesmen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am willing to teach people how to crochet, do simple magic tricks, or how to ride the most dangerous Denver city bus (the Colfax 15).

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, France, Panama, Spain, Turkey
