ABOUT ME

My name is Daniel Cooper. Most everyone calls me Cooper. I love life and try to learn as much as I can from the experiences that come with it and the people that I meet along the way.
I recently returned from a two year adventure in South Korea where I spent most of my time working/ teaching English and other parts of that time experiencing the culture and all that came with it.
I have had the opportunity to experience 10 countries now, so culture/ people are something that I am fascinated by.
I love to joke around and find reasons to laugh at most anything. (especially the shit that loves to show up in life)
I love music and mess around with the guitar, drums, and some piano.
I try to write when I can/ have the time.
I am fascinated by people and where they come from and what sort of things they have experienced in life.
I love to both hear and tell stories!
I love adventure and change!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a journey. We have an opportunity each day to make the best of it and to effect those around us in a positive way or in a negative way. We learn from relationships, experiences and even from our mistakes.. We continuously have the opportunity to learn from everyone and everything around us if we are open to such. The way we respond to life and the things that come with it will define the types of people that we are... the way that we treat others will reflect our hearts and...I believe that by listening more than we talk that we will learn and experince more in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently my level of participation is that I am a working on becoming/ being a surfer and not per say being a host right now. I would love to have an opportunity to host eventually, but in this season of my life I am taking advantage of the opportunity to be a surfer and meet a variety of people that exist in the community of the couch surfing world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to the actual couch surfing website, but I have had similar experiences hosting people in the past that I have met in passing at events. I am always down to meet people/ help out if and when I can.
I have also had my own experiences outside of "couch surfing" where people that I've met have hosted me.
So... I am not a technical couch surfer yet, but I am also not foreign to the concept.

Interests

travel, (Mexico, Canada, Bosnia, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Taiwan, China, Japan, S. Korea, and Iowa-- are the countries that I have been too)
Music- listening and playing, I play a little piano, some drums and guitar

Teach, Learn, Share

My goal in this next year is to couch surf across America and encounter a variety of encounters/ memories that are not yet in my memory bank.
I have nothing bad to say about the community of friends that I currently have or the past events in my life (good and bad I have learned from them all)
But... I feel like my life is an album full of pictures that I am so familiar with. A book full of stories that I have often told many times.
I want new experiences, new encounters, new stories, and new faces.
It would be my goal to use this year as an instrument of self reflection. I think everyday we have the opportunity to do that (self reflect), but at this point in my life I want some new experiences and new stories for me to take with me into the next place that the wind blows me.
