About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to meet people who can tell me great stories about their adventures, and give me ideas for mine.

ABOUT ME

I'm an English gentleman, a bit rough round the edges, currently taking my tea in Japan.
The things I love include partying, going to bed super early, getting dirty in the forest, and keeping my house spotlessly tidy.

PHILOSOPHY

If you are going to do something, you may as well do it well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I thought I'd get a feel for the CouchSurfing vibe by hosting a bit and before I knew it I was addicted! Have you tried hosting? I highly recommend it!
Besides hosting whenever possible I also offer tours of Osaka to anyone who will follow me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It all started out when one of my friend Alex asked if his 'Couchsurfers' could come out ot dinner with us. "What manner of exotic beast is this?" I wondered. Before long I had met several sets of most charming surfers and I decided to give the hosting malarchy a go myself. After my first set, I was addicted, now I host whenever physically possible and I'm loving it!
I haven't surfed yet, but I'm looking forward to getting to that soon.

Interests

I'm into a lot of sports and outdoor pursuits, and big into nutrition and feeling good.

If there's one dish you can guarantee I'll bring to a picnic, it's a Frisbee.

I've been living in Osaka for ten years and I speak Japanese fluently. I love all languages so if I get a chance I'll have a go at anything.

I'm an avid diver and snowboarder; I'm currently in the process of setting up my dream life, whereby I get to alternate seasonally between the two.

I also read, watch movies, and play twister when the mood takes me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes! I'm open to just about anything when it comes to music, but recently I've been particularly taken by Dubstep, and those club classics Techno and Drum & Bass. Oh, and there will always be a place in my heart for classical music.
Books... well I've never been the most cultured of readers as grammar books and manuals form the bulk of my library, but I read other stuff occasionally and collect anything by Terry Pratchett and Robert Rankin.
I love films, but I'm not much of a critic. All I know is that Fight Club is the best film ever. Cliched bloke flick? Yep, and I love it! Other favourites are Blades of Fire, Talladega Nights, Anchor Man, and anything involving the genius that is Chris Morris.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tibet. Tibet is Amazing. Diving with Manta rays in Komodo is amazing. Descending 700m down Mount Koya in under 10 minutes on a racing bike is amazing. Being able to read chinese characters for the first time is amazing. Finding someone that you love is amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm all up for learning about anything you,ve got the time to tell me, but I teach for my job so I'd rather not do it here as well. Ok, ok, ummm... eat your greens; they're good for you. Is that enough?
