ABOUT ME

Life is too short and beautiful not to share experiences, make new friendships and always keep an open-mind. This philosophy is what first drew me to the couch surfing concept and now I'm pretty much hooked! I would say I am an optimist (the glass is mostly half full), and curios-minded about almost everything that inspires me. I guess the world is smaller than we sometimes think...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be a good host and share the many diverse experiences of my city that make it special, and somewhere along the road go out for coffee or a drink and let the conversation flow. Then eventually, when I have the suitable means, I'd like to host too, and give a little back from what I have gained from this experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am no longer a new kid on the block (like I was back in 2008), but still running the course and still a fast learner, open to new couch surfing experiences.

Interests

Travelling occupies my thoughts at least 5 hours a day, but I guess it comes both first and last on the list, because money is the deciding factor! But hey I'm also passionate about photography and film (filmmaking too), as well as reading, yoga, and music. Hello, I also love wine and beer (but not at the same time...), coupled with cooking, eating, and sharing!

Music, Movies, and Books

International cinema whispers to me a thousand sweet nothings! There are so many film and filmmakers whom I stalk, but a few films that I can always name are Bicycle Thieves and most film's by De Sica, and then there are others... The Dreamers, La Hane, Three Colours trilogy, The Pear Tree, Hiroshima mon amour, Sans soleil, Blue is the Warmest Colour, Boyhood, The Salt of the Earth, Timbuktu...

Music is the remedy of the soul, and my taste is pretty eclectic, though jazz and glam rock seem to always play in my ears more often than not.

I try to read often, though somewhat clichéd it may be, the Alchemist left a beautiful mark on my soul.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, this story is plain weird, since I managed to get lost on a hiking trip on Miyajima Island in Japan, and up in the dense mountains I only managed to find my way back onto the beaten track by recognising a wild deer I had seen earlier and following it to the right place! ...And no I hadn't smoked anything earlier!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am willing to teach basic English and Parsi to interested parties. I would like someone to talk to in French (voila!) as I was learning the language at beginner level, and no better way to learn than to speak it!
