About Me

Greetings from Azerbaijan! I have an intermediate proficiency in both English and Russian. I take immense joy in meeting visitors to Azerbaijan, introducing them to our vibrant culture, and building new friendships. While I don't host guests in my home, I'm always enthusiastic about connecting, guiding, and sharing the marvels of my homeland with those keen to explore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing primarily because of my passion for cultural exchanges. While I can't offer a place to stay, I genuinely want to assist travelers in discovering the hidden gems of Azerbaijan. This platform provides a unique opportunity for me to connect with like-minded individuals from various corners of the world, share stories, and immerse myself in diverse experiences. Through Couchsurfing, I hope to widen my horizons, help others understand the beauty and richness of Azerbaijani culture, and create lasting memories and friendships.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During a visit to Gobustan, I had the unique opportunity to witness the Gaval Dash – also known as the 'Tambourine Stone' – in action. An elderly local played mesmerizing rhythms on this ancient rock, which is believed to be one of the world's oldest musical instruments. Surrounded by petroglyphs dating back thousands of years, listening to the echoes of the past, I felt deeply connected to the rich tapestry of human history.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can introduce you to the intricacies of Azerbaijani culture, from our deep-rooted traditions to our vibrant dances and music. Having traveled around my homeland extensively, I can offer insights into hidden gems and local experiences that you might not find in conventional guidebooks. I'm also quite versed in Azerbaijani cuisine and would be thrilled to teach anyone keen on learning how to prepare our signature dishes.

Learn: Every interaction brings an opportunity for growth. I'm eager to learn from the experiences and stories of those I meet. Whether it's a new language phrase, a cooking technique, or an unfamiliar song, I cherish every new piece of knowledge I gain through interactions.

Share: I believe in the power of stories. Our personal narratives connect us, help us find common ground, and bridge cultural gaps. I love sharing tales of my adventures, the lessons I've learned, and the wisdom I've gained over the years. In return, I'm always open to hearing and appreciating the journeys of others, believing that we can enrich each other's lives through shared experiences.
