About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Gin and Tonics for everyone

ABOUT ME

Yeah, so I love to travel and meet interesting people. I worked in kitchens from age 13 to 23. I think that this in part instilled in me a love for character and travelling. You can't travel without meeting awesome people and eating food right? I'm nw a working man trying to figure out my life. I'll get there, but there is no need to rush. Come and see the desert!

PHILOSOPHY

You have to live without regrets. (I know really cliche but true)

Perhaps the feelings that we experience when we are in love represent a normal state. Being in love shows a person who he should be. -Chekhov

At one point this was my philosophy and maybe it still is... "I'm asked a lot what the best thing about cooking for a living is. And it's this: to be part of a subculture. To be part of a historical continuum, a secret society with its own language and customs. To enjoy the instant gratification of making something goos with one's hands---using all one's senses. It can be, at times, the purest and most unselfish way of giving pleasure (though oral sex has to be a close second)" -Bourdain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm open to new ideas. I think that the idea of spreading friendship and diversity is something amazing. I'd like to contribute to that in any way that I can. Pretty deep for a guy who lives in the desert and puts the wheels on planes huh?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None to date. I've heard good things though.

Interests

outdoors, snow, wine, food, books, Gin and Tonics (the world's greatest drink), travel, trains, bikes, smells, thanksgiving (the best holiday by far), languages, so much more...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love almost everything. Gotta have jazz. Does anyone like Rockabilly? I think it's awesome. I went through my metal phase in high school. I can listen to some country but I'm particular. I grew up with grunge and still love it. Tool is the shit.

Books: There is only one book that I have started and not finished. The brothers karamazov. I'm attempting it at the moment for a second time. I'm also reading the good soldier Svejk. I like Robbins, Marquez, russian novels, Irving, O'brien (everyone should read the things they carried),

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed the tallest mountain in Japan. I've climbed the tallest mountain in the lower 48. I love to be on top of the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

Has anyone heard of bookcrossing.com? So I was walking through the park and I stumbled upon a book with a note that said it wasn't lost. Intriguing. So with this site, you read a book and when you are done, you leave it somewhere for another to find and read and they are expected to do the same. You can see where books have been left and go find them. Awesome!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, South Korea, Turkey
