About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find where I can do the most for everyone, including myself. Taught myself to code online and fell into the tech world 7.5 years ago. Left May, 2018 to look for a way to use my skills for the greater good - specifically interested in sustainable development, environmental conservation, and human rights issues.
ABOUT ME
I love to meet new people and show off places I love. I like to be healthy, both in brain and body, though of course I'm moderation :) not enough time to do everything in the world, so I want to learn as much as I can from people who've done things I haven't. I love music, learning, the outdoors and the internet (it's a tough balance).
Currently not drinking alcohol - recovering from a severe concussion in November 2017.
PHILOSOPHY
Working on it! Tolerance and learning to hopefully have a better one.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've actually only couchsurfed twice in California, mostly hosted people unofficially in Austin.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted and stayed with wonderful people for ages without couch surfing thanks to an organization for international and exchange students I helped run at UT Austin. Through that network of diverse people and their friends, I'm lucky enough to have a network of friends around the world I've hosted and stayed with. I'm glad there's a website to organize this for even more people!
Unfortunately this means I don't have many references on here, but I hope the personal references help describe me - please ask me any questions!
Interests

Music, Movies, and Books
Podcasts: HUGE freakonomics fan and constantly on the search for something similar or people who want to talk about it. Also love Radiolab.
Movies: Don't watch many, but I watched a lot of Sister Act 2 growing up...
Music: Pop, hip hop, funk, acoustic, many things! Currently in a very relaxed mood - listening to a lot of Tom Misch, Jorja Smith, Sigrid, Philip Glass, VanJess, HONNE.
Books: Currently reading "Silk Roads" and "Super Sad True Love Story". Just finished "All The Light We Cannot See" and cannot recommend it more. Others: "En Attendant Godot", "How To Lie With Statistics", "Born A Crime"
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most amazing thing of 2011 - a corn dog in Taiwan, but with french fries rolled into the batter before deep frying. Terrifying.
I'd say the most amazing thing I've done more recently is quit my job to search for something more
Teach, Learn, Share
Bands to listen to, fun things to do in Austin, always learning more about history and current technology to try and see what comes next.
When traveling I like to leave places cleaner than I found them, and try to trade knowledge about people's passions. Also trading food if schedule allows :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Fun conversation and games, book and music recommendations! I love to cook meals if you want too have dinner together - they are more or less exciting depending on whether I can find ingredients I know how to use :P
