ABOUT ME

What's to say? I love people. I love music. I love nature. I especially love poi spinning as a meditative art. I embrace the world around me as much as i can. I play guitar, whittle, build things, jump off of high things, spin fire, and read books. I seek wisdom in all I do as a personal challenge. I hold high moral standards for myself, which I don't expect others to live by, but i'm really trying to go the extra mile to become the man i want to be. PHILOSOPHY

I want to understand the universe, the mind, and the reason for living. I live according to the idea of loving others more than yourself. Humility is my method, wisdom my tool, and life my opportunity. I'm also confused often, and it feels great.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think it is a truly beautiful thing to rely on the compassion of strangers. Society is headed toward a steady decline of reclusive machine-like people, submissive to commercial living and accepting of circumstances presented by self-interested rulers. Our fighting chance is to love one another and prove that people can live alongside others in their cooperative effort. Handstands also help.

I've made so many friends through the site! The list of experiences is just too long, and they're all positive.

Interests

Music, art, philosophy, science, especially nature, SPINNING. You know, I'm just interested in too many things to list. To put it simply, i will converse with you about it for hours if you like, whatever "it" is.

Music, Movies, and Books

Everything!!!! I'm really a "Jack of all trades" but my favorite author is Leo Tolstoy or maybe Aldous Huxley. I'm obsessed with dystopian books and movies, and I'm generally just interested in whatever will make me think. I'm a musician, and my favorite music is musician's music. If it's technical and/or thought-provoking, it's for me. I don't enjoy music that isn't about the music very much.

Teach, Learn, Share

There are earthworms in some places on earth that grow up to 16 feet long. Their tunnels are so large and slimy, when they move around in them it can make gurgling noises audible up to 300 feet away. Birds and toads will sometimes see the end of the worm and swallow it, then choke and die as the worm wriggles away unharmed.
Teaching the spinning arts is one of my occupations and favorite things in the world to do. I would be happy to do it for free, just ask.
