About Me

I smile a lot, get lost in thought a lot, and tend to bounce around whenever there's music playing.

I'm driven, excitable, happy-go-lucky, and am all-around a lot of fun! I'm a big fan of doing the objectively right thing, and making light of all of the silly rules that don't matter.

I'm from Miami, speak Spanish fluently, lived in Boston eleven years, and have lived in Austin for 3+.

My travels:
I've lived in Spain, explored a bunch of different countries in N America, and spent a year driving across / exploring the USA. I've also spent a few months in SE Asia and India.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because Couchsurfers are the best people on earth. Social, helpful, caring, considerate, and low maintenance -- we're all in it because we love people, learning, growing, and exploring.

I believe people should do as they please as long as they're not infringing on the happiness of others. I'm not a fan of preconceived notions, and I don't judge people for their well-intentioned decisions.

Interests

I enjoy learning about start-ups, travel, behavioral psychology, and education theory. I really enjoy contemplating and discussing things we typically take for granted (social constructs, technology, behavioral patterns, etc).

I get out and about a lot -- whether it's to restaurants, bars, lounges, shows, friends' places for board games like Cranium or Settlers of Catan, or just for long walks on sunny days. I'm very social and love meeting new people!

I enjoy cycling, bouldering, exercising, talking start-ups, discussing hard big world problems, and games.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the diversity along Santorini's different beaches really drove the point home for me, for the first time, of how varied and beautiful our earth is. It was also a unique experience for me because, for the first time in a long time, I came to terms with the notion that a lot of my stresses and worries were self-imposed and societally driven - I could easily just wash them away.

In a different sense, seeing how the income and education disparity that exists in some developing countries impacts the lower income brackets' mobility towards a better life has left an equally deep impression on me in life.
