Overview
About Me
I like cats. I like baking. I like baking cookies that look like cats.
Also my name sounds like panda. (Merpanda= panda of the sea)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had wonderful experiences surfing in America, China and Korea and I want to pay it forward by helping travellers to Singapore in any way I can.
Interests
I restore old buildings for a living, I paint less than I would really like to, I love how pottery is harder than it looks, and I take too many photos of cats.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a strange affinity with writers who were trained as architects, they have an eye for detail that only architectural training can give. I love The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy, and who can forget The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. Murakami's Kafka on the Shore is like being lost in a forest.
I love Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, I love his imagination.
Studio Ghibli's entire series, which I grew up watching, blows me away with their attention to detail.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dangling over the edge of Shwesandaw Pagoda to catch the sun setting over the relics of Bagan in Myanmar.
Teach, Learn, Share
Painting on cookies, knitting, speaking chinese (or japanese), how to make a moussaka that's to die for
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm half Thai and half Chinese - I'll cook you bastardised versions of Thai or Chinese food (aka what I grew up eating). If you like, I'll bring you tasty noms from the Singapore (where the national pastime is eating). Or I could teach you Chinese/ Japanese/ basic Thai.
