About Me

I'm a dynamic person, but I can also be quiet. I try to be as much open-minded as possible, but life always surprises me and makes me question things that seemed impossible before. I like facing challenges as long as you don't ask me to do anything stupid or too dangerous. Travelling is my passion as well as everything it involves related to cultures, people, ethnics, customs and geography. I am a good listener, but I also like to talk. I am willing to learn anything interesting. I enjoy reading, and watching movies as well as hanging out. I do care about environment, nutrition and health.
I work as a freelance, which means I can set my office wherever there is wifi and there is almost everywhere, so that's cool :)
My favourite freetime activity is planning my next trip.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The first time I heard about Couchsurfing was on my three-month-stay in the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. It was my first time abroad without my family and I made a German friend who explained to me what it is about. At that time, I was discovering how incredible travelling is and it looked like the perfect idea I had ever heard of. No later than some days ago I created a profile and from that moment on, my plan A when travelling is try to find a couch or someone who is willing to meet up. I sometimes achieved it and sometimes not :)

I have surfed in different cities of Canada —Quebec City, Montreal—, Germany —München, Köln, Bremen, Berlin, Hamburg—, Scotland —Edimburgh, Inverness—, England —Newcastle—, Belgium —Gent, Mons, Brussels, Lovaine—, Spain —Santander— and Netherlands —Rotterdam—, as well as participated in some CS'S events in Belfast, Barcelona and Madrid.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Update November 2022: I was so mad at CS to monetize that I stopped using it for travelling and signed up in other alternative pages. Now, I'm back, I guess.

Update September 2017: No doubt great hosts are everywhere in the world. Our hosts in Canada showed us their country from their perspective. Benoît even came to visit us in Barcelona, and we consider them a great friend!

Update August 2016: OMG, India and its hosts! We used CS so many times during our trip and we did not have any negative experience, we couldn't have been better fed, hosted and accompanied than we were. Thanks, thanks, thanks!!!!

Update August 2015: Iago, Eloi and I are still friends after our stay at his place! We are still in touch and we even bumped into each other in London last February 2017 when the three of us were living in London!!!!

Update August 2014: My brother and I couldn't have been better in Hamburg thanks to Thorge's hospitality.

Update January 2014: Last summer, we were travelling around in Scotland and England and we were warmly welcomed by CS users in Newcastle upon Tyne, Edimburg and Inverness.

Update February 2013: I was staying in a house close to Munich and also in Köln and both experiences were really great. It's always nice tofind people willing to host you with such a great hospitality!

Update March 2012: I was two nights in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and one in Bremen (Germany) and I really loved it! I do think that Couchsurfing is the best way to travel. I hope I am able to host people soon!

Update April 2012: Two weeks ago, I did a tour in Belgium and I met really kind people thanks to Couchsurfing. Besides, I happened to bump into one of the veterans and he explained me his adventures couchsurfing all over the world. It was amazing!

Interests

Update 2022: I think my aspirations back when I wrote the paragraph below where kind of sweet/cute, I don't feel like deleting it, although I am more realistic now, I guess.

I want to change the world, like all the millenials, of course! But my approach would be through food. I want to work in food policy matters and contribute somehow on stopping to destroy the planet and eliminating food insecurity once and for all!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I do not listen to just one particular kind of music. It depends on what I am doing the music I could listen to classic music, OSTs, folk&rock, indie pop, ska or reggae.

Movies: I am open to all genres except for horror films. I am capable of being scared one month after having watched the film! :S
But I prefer fiction, films based on true stories and especially all those that make me think afterwords and do not leave me indifferent.

Books: It is difficult to pick just one genre when the market is full of splendid writers that belong to different genres. I do enjoy sci-fi, historic books and authobiographic ones though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled around Europe. Met people from all over the world. Lived in Barrancabermeja (Colombia), Maynooth (Ireland), Heidelberg, Leipzig and Berlin (Germany), Paris, Nice (France), Canterbury and London (UK), Mumbai, Lonavla and Badlapur (India), and Calaf, Barcelona and Madrid (Spain).

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm willing to tell anything that I've done that may interest others. I reckon everyone has something to teach and I really want to learn what you teach me about anything.

I really feel like taking a year off -or more- and do an around the world trip. I will do it as soon as possible.

Update 2022: I'm finally doing it! The dreamt trip! Not a world trip definitely (it doesn't make sense for me anymore, but a long trip in South America.
