Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am fully convinced by the idea of couchsurfing. I've realised on journeys and trips the potential of the concept – might it be my time on Thabo's house boat in Botswana, the days in Paris at Michali's student flat or at Alina's "shoe box"-appartment in Oxford, UK: meeting people 'on the street' offered not only a place to spend the night at, but the opportunity to find friends.

The vibe between couchsurfers normally perfectly represents what a great journey is about: the sensation of the knew and the unknown, the eagerness to get to know oneself better by understanding the other…

I offered my couches / beds to others, too - and spent, together with my guests, some of the best days I've had in the last years. Gustav and Isaac from Sweden, Catalin from Romania, Kathi from Switzerland, Marcus from the USA, and many more…

Music, Movies, and Books

• lived in a township in Johannesburg
• studied in Nice
• went to school in a tiny village in Costa Rica
• drove from Vienna to Paris without a break; to go climbing and get a haircut ;)
• free dived with dolphins and whale sharks

…but the most memorable things are ones that i) cant be told properly ii) shouldnt be told iii) lie in the unspeakable
