ABOUT ME

Father of two in their twenties. Life-long learner. Career background mainly public/participatory arts and local government, and on the voluntary front, environmental conservation, including leading practical conservation holidays abroad. Lived in UK for most of life except, after taking early retirement, 2-year VSO placement working with Amerindian communities in southern Guyana . Now in living in London (on a small narrowboat) for most of time but with a small flat on the coast. Recently completed MA in Creative Writing at London University. Ongoing involvements include organic gardening, coastal conservation and counselling. Sense of humour but serious with it. Fit but not as fit as was. 'Young for age' type!

Interests

Life-long interest in wildlife. Pre-Guyana cider apple orchard owner and cider maker/drinker - recently diversified into 'Fruit and Veg'. All things sea and boats.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dancing on a Princes Street bus shelter roof with my son during Hogmany celebrations in Edinburgh, Scotland, and not getting arrested. Running marathons and living to regret it much later. Looking at tropical rainforest butterflies and dragonflies through my close-focus binoculars.
