About Me

Hey there,

My name is Dave Anderson, I'm 28 years old ,and I'm originally from Anaheim, California. I've been working and living abroad since 2011 across Europe, Asia, and Australia, and am now a full-time professional travel blogger.

You can read my full story on my about page:

THE SHORT VERSION…
I’m originally from Southern-California, but have made long-term travel into a lifestyle. I’ve lived in 6 different countries, love learning new languages, and have a strange obsession with hummus. You’ll most likely find me on a tropical beach, at a music festival, or anywhere else I can get a cold beer. I’m also a travel photographer, so you’ll rarely find me without my camera. I’m just a normal guy who’s on a mission to explore the world, live abroad, and make every day count.

I love meeting new people and traveling the world. I am very outgoing, and enjoy good conversation. I'm clean, respectful, and responsible. I really enjoy learning new languages, and experiencing different cultures. I'm very relaxed, and try to enjoy my life as much as possible. :-)

PHILOSOPHY

"The World is a book, and those who do not travel, read only a page" - St. Augustine.

I'm a nomad at heart. I love staying on the move, and exploring as much as possible. I live my life to the fullest. I try not to be brought down by the little things. I love my friends and my family, and am constantly trying to make sure I am doing what is best for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is one of the coolest and best ways to meet up and interact with locals in destinations I'm visiting. I try to always look for upcoming events / meet-ups, and figure out if I can attend a CS meet-up.

Couchsurfing is more than just finding a "free couch" to sleep on, it's about building friendship with the locals, and seeing a different side of the destination.

Interests

My biggest passions in life is traveling, music festivals, photography, and hummus! I also love music, television, movies, sports, food / drink, sight-seeing, hiking, dancing, swimming, and much more!

I'm a content creator for my website, so you'll rarely find me without my camera gear.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I can listen to all different kinds of music, but I really enjoy electronic music. I'm into tech-house, deep-house, and techno.

Movies -- I'm into every kind of movie. My favorite genre is definitely comedy, but I love watching movies!

Books -- The Tipping Point, The Alchemist, The Sun Also Rises, The Tipping Point, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snowboarding in the Swiss Alps in Interlaken. One of the most amazing things I've ever done. Beautiful city, and the best slopes I've ever ridden.

Capri, Italy. Taking a boat tour around the Island and swimming inside the Blue Grotto. One of the seven natural wonders of the world. And I completely understand.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people a lot about writing a blog, social-media management, photography skills, and much more!
