About Me
I've had a passion for travel ever since I took my first trip abroad at the age of 19. After growing up in Connecticut and living in Vermont for eight years, I moved to Washington, DC where I now work for the US's intercity passenger rail service.
At home I enjoy exploring DC, finding great places to eat, cycling, reading, going to museums and following politics and current events.
I try to head abroad at least once a year - I tend to seek out destinations that are less touristy, where I can get a better sense of how people live and what the cities really are like.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I joined over ten years ago, the couchsurfing was a unique opportunity to meet locals while keeping my cost of travel down. Now, I'm mostly interested in connecting with locals and other travelers. Most of the trips I take are solo - I love the flexibility, freedom and peace that comes with exploring on my own, but it is very nice to connect with people who live in the cities I visit and get the perspective of a local.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visited Easter Island. It was always a bit of a bucket list destination, somewhere that was very far away and a bit difficult to get to. It was an amazing trip!
