About Me
Hi! I'm Michael. I’m a content creator who makes videos about history and science for a channel called Idea Soup! I’m currently traveling full time.
I'm about the easiest guest in the world. I'm always willing to clean, cook, and help out in any way I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Without meeting new people, travel is nothing more than a change in architecture. I truly think Couchsurfers are the best people in the world. I have been Couchsurfing for 7 years, and it has opened my eyes to the power of community, travel, and most importantly, sharing.

Music, Movies, and Books
“Music has always been a matter of Energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio.” - Hunter S. Thompson
Favorite artists:
Father John Misty, Elton John, Kendrick Lamar, OutKast, Jay-Z, Bob Dylan, Mac Demarco, Tame Impala, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Simon and Garfunkel
Books:
-The Waves
-“Más respeto que soy tu madre”
-Thinking Fast and Slow
-A Brave New World
-Things Fall Apart
Movies:
Too many! I used to make movies when I lived in Los Angeles-- you can google "Growth" on Vimeo if you want to see a documentary I produced. I love documentaries, but also epic films like Apocalypse Now, The Godfather, Snatch, and others.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
You know, of all the places I've traveled the one that really blew me away was Bagan, Myanmar. There's around 2,000 pagodas scattered through the desert. I rented a motorbike and just went from temple to temple, nearly alone, climbing to the top for sunrise and sunset. It's truly a magical and breathtaking place.
But honestly, the small moments of drinking wine, watching the sunset, and having a good conversation are just as amazing to me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can cook you the best Tex-Mex fajitas you've ever had.
I can also teach guitar, and I'm always happy to help people practice English.
What I Can Share with Hosts
To me, Couchsurfing is truly about an exchange of ideas and perspectives. Whether we have one meal together or explore the whole city, I like to think that the discussions and experiences we share make both of us richer.
