ABOUT ME

I have lived in the same town in NC since I was 2 years old. After acheiving my idea of the American dream...and realizing I wasnt ready for it, I decided that I needed to see more of the world. For the last 5 years I have been in sales in the automotive industry and most recently managed the internet department for a Subaru and Volkswagen dealership in Raleigh. Quit my job and spent 4 months Eurailing through most of Europe in the fall/winter of 08/09 and caught the travel bug bad. After a healthy year in the car business last year I decided to take a sabatical in South America for 2011. Have spent the first few months of my trip camping and hiking in southern Argentina and Chile, and am now taking my time checking out the rest of the continent.

About me. Even though I am quiet at times, I feel as though I am pretty adventurous person and willing to try just about anything once. Back home I work so much that my free time mainly consists of TV, movies, eating out and hanging out with freinds. When I have the time and money I love to snowboard, hike, camp, wakeboard and generally anything that gets me outside. I am an easy going, easy to get along with person and appreciate the differences in culture that are observed and everything learned from people I meet traveling. One of my favorite things about traveling is climbing out of my comfort zone, so I look forward to the new experiences awaiting through Couchsurfing.

PHILOSOPHY

At the end of life we have more regret for the things we have not done, than the things we did. (or one of the variations of this concept)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never hosted anyone, but look forward to doing so when I return home. Have never been hosted, but heard so many good experiences from other people that I would like to check it out.

I dont have a huge amount to compare it to, but Patagonia has got to be one of the most, if not the most beautiful places on the planet. Waited for almost 2 months to climb a peak on a day with no clouds an accomplished this finally at Tranador Glacier near Bariloche, probably the most amazing sunset, starry sky and sunrise ive ever experienced.
