About Me

I'm Bronson Peshlakai, a guest services agent for The Cleveland Browns, Cleveland's NFL football team. I'm also a senior at Cleveland State University majoring in Journalism / Promotional Communication, and minoring in Business.

This is my second go-around in college. In 2006 I was a student at the University of South Dakota majoring in Journalism. I did two internships at daily newspapers and as a capitol correspondent at the state Capitol in Pierre. Those positions propelled me into good paying jobs and I dropped out of school.

In my free time I like traveling, watching TV and movies, and singing. I'm a member of one of the choruses associated with The Cleveland Orchestra, one of the world's most acclaimed orchestra. I also play classical piano and pipe organ, and sing with my church choir at Trinity Cathedral (Episcopal).

I love living in Cleveland because of how much the community invests in the arts. We are an up and coming group of people, and it's great to be part of this city. We are ramping up efforts for the Republican National Convention happening in our city in July.

I'm 100% Navajo American Indian who originally grew up on the Navajo Nation near Gallup, New Mexico. I moved to Grand Rapids, Mich., in 1985 when my dad returned to college to get a divinity degree. After high school I worked in television news production for nearly 10 years, moved to South Dakota, and eventually became a public information officer with the Navajo Nation, and was a broadcast associate with 48 Hours Mystery, a unit of CBS News New York.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm Couchsurfing because I have faith in humanity, and that there are good people out there in the world who appreciate meeting new people and learning of different cultures.

Oh, and I've become a part of the Couchsurfers in Cleveland as we plan CouchSurf CLE 2016. This is an awesome four-day event where nearly 100 people are expected to Couchsurf and visit Cleveland starting Friday Memorial Day weekend. Tons of events are planned, I implore you get over here to visit our fine city. Details here at: https://www.couchsurfing.com/events/cleveland-couch-crash-2016

Also, the Craiglist Rideshare forum has been a true testament to my foray into helping people get from one place to another in a safe manner. At the time of this posting in April 2016, I've had 34 rideshares who have ridden next to me in my car. All of them, awesome people, and most I still keep in contact with if I pass thru their city. I won a 2nd place statewide excellence in journalism award on rideshare.... if you're so inclined, you can read it here: http://www.cccvoice.com/2012/02/08/sharing-rides-cuts-traveling-costs/

Interests

Oh my gosh, I have so many interests, it's crazy I feel like I want to learn about so many different things. I have an interest in learning. As a reporter, I had to learn so many background aspects of my stories, a lot of it law, legislative process, politics, the economy, local government.

Also, I enjoy making music, whether it be in a church, or in a garage jamming with other musicians. I just wish I learned how to play guitar.

But, far and away, my top interest is traveling. I've been to 42 of the 50 states. I'd like to get to all 50, then , then conquer the world as a traveler. My sister just got back from Tokyo, Seoul and Dubai, and has now stamped out her entire Passport... That's my next goal.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to all kinds of music. Pop, dance, classical, country, jazz. Broadway tunes. My favorite channels on XM-Sirius is BPM, Area 33, Classical, Old Country, 90s music, and Y2K.

Movies include a lot of the older movies of the 90s. Always loves Adam Sandler. There's too numerous of movies to list here. I do watch Survivor, Big Brother, Amazing Race (i tried out twice), Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul...

Books, my favorite authors are Robin Cook, John Nance, Dean Koontz and John Grisham.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done amazing things ... but along with the Rideshares, my amazing kitty Toppers, has ridden co-pilot with me for more than 80% of my rideshares, and has logged more than 100,000 miles in my car. She's ran away in Omaha, and twice in Denver, but she's always returned. LOL.

Oh, I've met all the sitting presidents since George H.W. Bush till now, and have interviewed Hillary Clinton while she visited Cleveland earlier last year.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with hosts the insight of traveling this great land of America. I've lived in nine states and have a true affinity to seeing different history and culture of the different areas. I encourage all the people I come across to come visit me in Cleveland.
