COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It is a great way to meet new people, and the fastest way to all the local do's and hotspots. Nothing better than having a genuine friend whom you've never met before take you into their home. And the free couch is completely secondary.

Music, Movies, and Books

The most common answer to the "what kind of music do you like?" question is usually,"everything". But I think that statement is an ambiguous cop-out. Music is something only beings of the highest intelligence and emotion can create and appreciate, but sometimes the outcome isn't so impressive.

Allow me to name drop..... Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, Sublime, Wu-Tang, Mos Def, Sick of it All, Thievery Corporation, Goran Bregović, Devendra Banhart, Petunia, Portishead, Radiohead, Patrick Watson, Fleet Foxes, and to round if off with the musical genius of Tom Waits.

Writers whom inspire include: Jerzy Kosinski, George Orwell, Hermann Hesse, Italo Calvino, Kurt Voneguet, Charles Bukowski and Leonard Cohen. My latest heartthrob: Ryszard Kapuscin„ski.
