About Me
Introverted hippie-ish Jesus-following outdoor-loving traveler. Seeing the world and meeting amazing people.
Walking the Camino del Norte/Camino Primitivo September 2019!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm backpacking on a budget and Couchsurfing seems like it would be a way to meet locals and help me travel longer by saving some $$. Unfortunately, most of my travel plans tend to be loose and spontaneous, so I haven't been able to make couchsurfing work as much as I would like to. I have been a WWOOFer in New Zealand and loved the experiences I had my host families there. One day when I'm more stationary, I would love to have a space to host people!
Interests
I've been getting back into my musical loves of fiddle and piano over the past few years. I'm also an Irish music nerd and can play the bodhran but don't get the chance to practice enough with other musicians so if there's a chance for a jam session, I'll take you up on it! I also love the chance to learn any new instruments.

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of many musical loves currently: Sleeping at Last, Penny & Sparrow, The Civil Wars, I'm With Her, The Head and the Heart, Gregory Alan Isakov, Joseph, Andrew Bird, Regina Spektor, The Avett Brothers, Blind Pilot, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel
I've been on a theology kick recently, steeping in more scholarly texts, but I have so many favourite books. Fiction-wise I love anything by Tolkien, Jane Austen, and Shakespeare. Non-fiction I'm a fan of CS Lewis, GK Chesterton, NT Wright, Timothy Keller, and Susan Cain's "Quiet."
Top favourite movies would be the LotR triology (extended editions), Once, Star Wars (the original triology), Loving Vincent, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the Emperor's New Groove, and The Princess Bride. I also have a great fondness for Bollywood musicals.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Aside from backpacking around New Zealand for a whole year, I recently climbed my first 14er--Pikes Peak...yay!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can answer your burning questions about Irish/British literature and share my thoughts on why the arts are important. I'm also a fairly entertaining storyteller and always enjoy swapping travel tales. As an added bonus, if there are children or dogs around that need to be entertained and assisted with, I'm pretty good with those. I can also help with cooking meals or any yard work that you might need an extra pair of hands with.
Additionally, I'm a very respectable house guest and will treat your place better than my own.
