Since last year September hitchhiking to India – or where the roads will lead us to.

***Update ***

The roads have led us to Iran (India has to wait for the next trip) and now we are hitchhiking back to Europe because one of Stephanie's friends is getting married in the Netherlands and summer in Germany is actually not too bad ;-)

ABOUT US

We are a couple from Dresden, quit our jobs to hitchhike through eastern parts of Europe further to Turkey, Iran, India…
Actually, we both knew each other from university, but met later on again. After one year of working we decided to take a year off to travel the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is our personal philosophy of couchsurfing and so we're always looking forward to have many interesting guests as well as hosts from all over the world.

Interests

Stephanie loves to go to concerts, music and film festivals, especially short film festivals. She likes to be on the run, to discover new places and things, but also enjoys these moments of silence or good conversations.

Oliver likes any type of quiz game, is a fervent (but mediocre) Go player and discovered the Ukulele to be the perfect instrument to hold in his hands.

Music, Movies, and Books

Stephanie is totally into short film movies and almost everything about cinema. She likes the atmosphere in the cinema, when the popcorn is rustling and the people are completly caught by a scene.
The world is full of good movies and she has still a lot to watch, so she'll be thankful for any recommendation you have.

Oliver has, at some point in his life, encountered The Mountain Goats and probably won't ever need any other band again. (Okay, that's an overstatement, but check them out, anyway – they are the best…)
As far as movies are concerned, he likes Wes Anderson, the Coen brothers and loads of English and American TV shows from Doctor Who and Blackadder to Lost and The Handmaid's Tale. There is so much out there to enjoy…

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stephanie: standing in front of the wild tasman sea: just me, the see and the wind blowing up my hair.
There are so many moments and each day has it's own fascination and magic...but mostly I'm getting overwhelmed by the nature itself.

Oliver gets his frequent geek-outs when he is at ancient sites from classical times and imagines the people he knows from his history books just standing in this exact same spot.

Teach, Learn, Share

We both like to dance Lindy Hop and we can teach you how to dance the basic steps. This dance is full of happiness and energy and I guess you will get the Lindy Hop Fever immediately like we both do.
