About Me

Most of my life I lived in Berlin, but now that I am location independent I feel this is changing a bit. I love Berlin and it made me that (hopefully nice) person that I am. I believe life is too short and too precious to be spend it entirely in one place or country. But I repsect every other opionion in that regard too. For me its pure curiositiy that makes me want to leave again and again and see whats out there in this beautiful world. I studied International Development Economics with a bunch of people from all over the world. In Berlin I live in lovely Friedrichshain, which is together with Kreuzberg the most interesting part of the city. (I guess kinda all the tourists would agree on that). But I can also show lesser known areas in Berlin. I worked as a tourist guide for a few years and I live in Berlin since 1990. So I know some things about Berlin :-) I have been traveling extensively in Latin America, East Africa (I also lived and worked there) and in Asia. I am pretty free in how to live my life which I think is a great privilege :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love travel literature such as Wilfred Thesiger or Bruce Chatwin. Breath by Tim Winton was great and moving same goes for ahmil jammed the way of the falcon, also Blood River by Tim Butcher, Road to Oxiana by Robert Byron, the song of the dodo and spillover by Quammen. Congo by Reybrouck and a very good one is Imam by Rassani-Asaki.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My master was an amazing program, we were about 40 different people from 25 different countries. From Europe we only had germans, one italian and one serb.
I was a Candidate on Who wants to be a Millionaire and another german game show...it went quite well. Made it far in the game 😊
I also rode on mountain bike from Southwest Germany to Catalonia and hiked 600 k through Germany with my Dad once.
Furthermore diving in sipadan, malaysia was unbelievably gorgeous, I will keep the memories with me till I die.
My nine month trip in latin america was an amazing experience that still sometimes brings tears to my eyes and many joyful memories if I think about all the lovely people I met along the way and the wonders I was able to see.
I stayed in an old former monastery in the Mallorca Mountains for two months for free just in exchange for some really fulfilling work in the garden and maintenance of the old property. It was to good to be true there.
I have been doing an internship with the european parliament as well as with the german parliament. It was both quite interesting! My workstay in Uganda was a great experience. East Africa is a beautiful region of this world. It is not for the faint hearted but traveling there comes with massive rewards for those who just let it happen :_)

Teach, Learn, Share

Politics, life (the first 42years of it :-) how to be successful at who wants to be a millionaire and other gameshows (although Im not so sure if that is something you could teach). How to pursue your dreams and dont worry what others think about your life. How to never give up and how to constantly try new things.
