Overview
About Me
I'm a 24 year old born&raised Chicagoan. The food, the architecture, and the parks are some of the best in the world (fact, not a biased opinion!). I am very grateful to grow up in a city where different ethnic groups are celebrated and encouraged to express their backgrounds.
Because of this, I have always been eager to learn about other cultures. Travel is in my blood, and curiosity for the unknown keeps me moving. There was not a doubt in my mind that I would move to another country after completing my Bachelors. Thanks to my long-lived obsession for the beautiful Latino culture, I heard South America calling my name. I packed my bags and taught English and in the breathtaking city of Buenos Aires for 8 months. Now, I'm in Santa Marta Colombia doing the same thing in a more tropical, tranqui setting :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, the best way to get to know a culture is through the locals. I have little experience "couchsurfing", but have surfed many a couches (or floors) of friends, friends of friends, family friends, etc. I know many people who rave over couchsurfing, and I'm eager to begin my journey.
Interests
All those visually appealing things - photography, interior design, architecture, fashion, maps.
The overwhelming sensation of experiencing live music.
Sustainability. Meditation. Spirituality. Yoga. The galaxy.
Animal lover, with emphasis on Elephants and my 3-year-old boxer Hendrix.
Food: Spending hours in the kitchen cooking and dancing with a bottle of wine. Learning about a culture through their cuisine. Sampling food around the world. Combining flavors that arn't supposed to work.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went head on into the waterfalls of Iguazu while a ferocious storm brewed right above us
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm the oldest of 5 children, so teaching and sharing are among the characteristics that come naturally to me. I come with open arms to share my culture, cook a meal for you, or simply enjoy a glass of wine and dancing.
I also am currently teaching English in Santa Marta and can share my language to those interested.
My Spanish is not exactly where I envisioned it being at this point. If you could teach me, help me, simply practice with me-- anything! :)
