Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't really participated yet.  I just joined.  I'm excited to get started though.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet, but hopefully that will change soon! I can't wait to get traveling. Wanderlust is setting in. I'm also open to hosting and showing anyone around my favorite city in the US- Minneapolis!

Interests

I love books, bikes, cooking, sewing, drawing, painting, creating things, listening to records, rainy days in the summer, hanging out in coffee houses and bars, and a good conversation. I proudly do not own a tv.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: punk, blues, 50's rock and roll, old-school country, a little bit of almost every other genre, but I'm very opinionated when it comes to music. Some, but not all of my favorite bands: The Gits, Faraway Boys, Pine Hill Haints, Rancid, Leftover Crack, Bessie Smith, Tom Waits, Funeral Oration, X, Naked Raygun, Violent Femmes, Dark Dark Dark, Kill your Idols, absolutely anything with an accordion in it.

Books: Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Alchemist, The Zahir, Skinny Legs and All, The Masterpiece, The Alienist, 1984, Brave New World.

Movies: Antonia's Line, Run Lola Run, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Waiting for Guffman, Sean of the Dead, Absolutely Fabulous (tv)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I watch the sunrise while biking to work every morning in the summer.

I've seen some amazing temples in Egypt, beautiful beaches in Venezuela, and inspiring art in Italy. More amazing are the people that I've met through out my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share all sorts of knowledge about sewing, patterning, dyeing, mending, pretty much anything about making clothing. I'm a pretty creative cook and love to bake, so I can share what I know about that. I like to explore the local art/fashion scene and know a lot of great bars. I can tell you about and take you to the best vegetarian and vegan restaurants around. I bike around a lot, so I know most of the best routes around the city.
I have so many interests, I don't know where to start listing the things I want to learn... but I'll try! I would like to become a better painter, and learn to paint with oils. I want to learn to work with metal (welding, casting, etc.). I'd like to learn more languages. I want to learn to cook Indian food (I've had a few botched attempts). I'd like to learn to relax better, since my mind is always racing.
