Hey.. I'm Yvonne, from Scotland but living south of the border.
I love meeting new people, having new experiences and challenges; if I’m not hiking or travelling then I’m planning for the next time - hatching plans for PCT or AT in 2019/20 at the moment.
I'm a respectful and tidy person, very positive, and very driven and passionate about the things I do. I love nothing more than good food and drink, good music, good company and laughs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was lucky enough to be able to take a year out to travel in 2015/16, plus several shorter trips before/since. Backpacking can become a bit of an echo chamber after a while so I joined Couchsurfing to change things up a bit, meet some locals, have some new experiences, and hopefully make new friends who I can return the favour to one day.

Interests

Hiking and backpacking, started climbing recently, yoga, meditation, photography, scuba diving and snowboarding when I can. Science, politics, nature, health, nutrition and generally looking after myself. I'm a very big fan of eating well and discovering food in the countries I'm visiting. And obviously I love to travel :)

Diverse (and occasionally embarrassing) taste on all counts. Currently listening to stuff like Beck, Blawan, The War on Drugs, CHVRCHES. Reading lots of PCT/AT thru-hiking memoirs at the moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learned to Freedive while I was in the Philippines in 2016 - that was amazing for me anyway.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m always happy to cook, mend, decorate or help out with any other jobs. My flat in Manchester if you ever need a place to stay in the UK.
