About Me

ABOUT ME

35yo, I used to work in Venice, Italy, previously as a hostel manager in Warsaw with 13 years of hostel experience. I also worked in: Salzburg, Innsbruck (Austria), and Krakow (Poland)

Currently working as a museum manager in Warsaw and I sometimes organizer group tours to incredible countries like Georgia, Lebanon and Kyrgyzstan.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, as I mentioned before I have been working in the hostels for most of my professional life, so if I traveled on my own I have mostly chosen hostels as a place for my stay. It changed a few years ago when I discovered Airbnb - one of the greatest booking websites. However one of the negatives about airbnb is the fact that the property owners don't really care what happens with you after checkin. Of course they can give you some hints on where to go and what to do, but that's all.

Couchsurfing is a mixture of good social vibe that is available in every hostel with a chance to meet real locals, check how they live, get to know them better etc.

Couchsurfing fully represents the idea of social travelling. This is what I like about it and I want to give it a try.

Interests

TRAVELLING - weekends away flying low cost airlines!, shooting short movies with my gopro camera :) [EDIT* I lost my gopro in Tajikistan so now I can only shoot them with my mobile ;) ]

INFRASTRUCTURAL INVESTMENTS IN POLAND - This might sound silly, but I like to see how my country changes every day, so I try to follow major infrastructure investments (such as highways, railways, bike paths and roads)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. I went to Poveglia Island in the Venice Lagoon—also known as the most haunted island in the world (you can google it) Ok, I didn't stay there overnight, but still, it was worth seeing as it is incredibly fascinating that there still can be uninhabited island in such a crowded place like Venice.

2. I also spend a night on the beach on Hormoz Island in Iran - swimming in the sea, drinking local alcohol (which is illegal in Iran!) and having fun!

3. I hiked magnificent Ala-Kul lake in Kyrgyzstan (3 times already :)

4. I had a chance to see the beauty and magic of Syria. Amazing country.

Teach, Learn, Share

In exchange for a couch I can:
- do your dishes (I don't mind, it's pretty relaxing)
- prepare a Polish dinner! (or Italian, I love their cuisine!)
- teach you some Polish

What I Can Share with Hosts

My sense of humor.
My hostel life experience.
My knowledge of Polish (well, if you mix the second thing on this list with some hours of Polish lessons you might actually start talking like a pro!
Krówki (any guesses on what 'krowki' might be?)
